Jazi Knit University - Freshman Series - with Cheryl Aitken Freshman class 4 sessions: 2/7, 2/14, 2/21/ 2/2 Sunday's 2-4pm

Jazi Knit University (known as Knit U) is a series of classes designed to give a knitter a wide spectrum of knowledge in the ART of KNITTING. Classes are geared to increase one's knowledge of knitting from the very beginning techniques to the very advanced. At the completion of Knit U: reading and understanding patterns will be a breeze, you will be able to create your own style, patterns and garments tailored to fit. The classes are broken down into four student study classifications: Freshman, Sophomore, Junior and Senior. Each study classification is a series of four classes. At graduation one will have completed 16 sessions followed with a fun filled graduation in the Jazi style.

Each student is required to attend class, practice their knitting techniques, and to keep a stitch technique notebook for future reference.

History of Knitting
Yarn types and choosing yarn
Knitting needles and tools
Decoding a yarn label
Beginning cast on techniques including the slip knot
Knit and purl review
Correcting mistakes
Types of stitches Increase/Decrease
Reading patterns
