Learn to knit with one of the best!  Have you always wanted to knit?  This is the a great series of classes to learn the basics and get started.

Students will learn all the basics of knitting; the techniques include:
Cast on and bind off
Knit and Purl
Increase and decrease in knit and purl
The art of Tinking (fixing stitches or knitting backwards ) (tink is knit spelled backwards)
Correcting drop stitches
Pattern reading
Gage
Yarn weights
Needle differences
Choosing a pattern

Student will start a project in the 3rd class to incorporate all they have learned.  You will choose the project, the yarn, and the needles.   Student will work through the pattern and start the project with Cheryl.

Jazi Knit University - Sophomore Series - with Cheryl Aitken

Sophomore class is 4 sessions: 3/7, 3/14, 3/21/ 3/28 Prerequisite: Jazi Knit University - Freshman class

Jazi Knit University (known as Knit U) is a series of classes designed to give a knitter a wide spectrum of knowledge in the ART of KNITTING. Classes are geared to increase one's knowledge of knitting from the very beginning techniques to the very advanced. At the completion of Knit U: reading and understanding patterns will be a breeze, you will be able to create your own style, patterns and garments tailored to fit. The classes are broken down into four student study classifications: Freshman, Sophomore, Junior and Senior. Each study classification is a series of four classes. At graduation one will have completed 16 sessions followed with a fun filled graduation in the Jazi style.

Each student is required to attend class, practice their knitting techniques, and to keep a stitch technique notebook for future reference.

Some of the techniques and areas that Sophomore class will cover:
Double pointed needles
Grafting
Hem Lines:  Cat Tooth, Vertical
Double Knit
Button Holes - types, creation, and placement
Pockets
Kitchener's cast-on
Bind offs and Kitchener's bind off
Working a 'V' Neck
Cable knitting
Design a pattern and knit pattern
Creating embellishments
Beading
Blocking
